DO NOT USE THESE FOLKS. They do not return calls. They have not followed up to text. When they finally took my call they have ghosted me 4 times.
Absolutely Unacceptable — Three Months of Wasted Time and Repeated Broken Commitments
I strongly recommend STEERING CLEAR of Carolina Paint and Drywall.
I rarely leave reviews like this, but after more than three months of wasted time (I have proof in text. First message Jun 19 , Friday at 5:04PM, last text reach out August 7, 2026 @ 724am) , repeated broken commitments, ignored phone calls, unanswered text messages, and appointments that were scheduled and then simply not honored (I have proof, screen shots of my appointment dates and times, they never called and never showed), I think prospective customers deserve to know exactly what they may be dealing with.
Carolina Paint and Drywall originally painted my home through Exeter, the builder of my home, which is the ONLY reason I continued trying to work with them for as long as I did. I have several areas that need touch-up work, including nail pops and an area in my bar that needs to be repaired and repainted after a roof leak. Naturally, I preferred having the company that originally painted the house handle the work rather than bringing in someone unfamiliar with the original paint job.
That decision has cost me months of frustration and hours of wasted time.
I have left at least three or four voicemail messages, made numerous additional phone calls, and sent multiple text messages trying to get this work scheduled. On the occasions when I actually managed to reach someone — I believe her name was Caroline or Carolyn — I was given appointments on FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS.
Four.
I put those appointments on my calendar. I arranged my schedule around them. I waited for them. And yet here I am, more than three months later, with the work still not completed.
I have screenshots of the appointments and text messages documenting my attempts to communicate with this company. This is not a situation where someone missed one call or there was one scheduling misunderstanding. This has been a repeated pattern of extremely poor communication and complete lack of follow-through.
What is perhaps most disappointing is that even after repeatedly leaving my contact information and asking someone to call me back, not one owner, manager, or other representative has bothered to contact me to resolve the situation.
My final voicemail even explained that I had reached the point where I intended to leave a public review because of their continued failure to communicate. Apparently, even that was not enough to warrant a return phone call.
At some point, you have to stop chasing a company and accept that they simply do not value your time or your business.
I was extraordinarily patient because Carolina Paint and Drywall came highly recommended to me by someone associated with my builder, and because they originally painted my home. I gave them opportunity after opportunity to simply do what they said they would do.
They failed to follow through every single time.
I am now moving forward with another company. My recommendation to anyone considering Carolina Paint and Drywall is simple: save yourself the aggravation and find a company that actually returns calls, honors appointments, communicates with its customers, and does what it says it is going to do.
A contractor’s work is only part of the service. Reliability, communication, professionalism, and respect for a customer’s time matter too. Based on my experience over the past three months, Carolina Paint and Drywall has failed miserably in all four.
This systems is forcing me to give them a rating. I would rate them zero stars so the 1 is merely a technicality.
